What is a Soap?

Apart from being a protocol in terms of Information Technology and an ongoing episodic work of fiction in Entertainment industry, a Soap is also a liquid or cake form of detergent used by people to wash their hands or clean utensils. Popularly known as Saabun in Hindi (transliterated form in English) (साबुन - हिंदी में), soaps are widely available in the Indian market from various manufacturers and fall in the FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods) category. Marketers and retailers also sell imported soaps in the country through regular and online mode.

Available for both washing hands and cleaning utensils, soaps are available in the Indian markets in powder, cake and liquid forms and are manufactured by companies such as Patanjali, Himalaya, Dove, Dettol, Liril, Pears, Biotique, Mysore Sandal Soap, Khadi, etc.
